When Issue #9 of “Future’s Guardian” comes online, you may experience a little deja vu…
Part of the reason will be the cover.
Look a little familiar? It should. Remember Issue #1?
Of course that’s not all about the issue that will have you thinking back. Then there’s the girl in green.
There’s something familiar about her, isn’t there? A young woman with red hair and a green bodysuit displaying psychic powers…
But that couldn’t be, could it?
That’s something Galatea will have to find out herself…
… and something you will have to find out as well when “Future’s Guardian” #9 goes online on Sunday, December 1st.
Ever since he made his debut in Issue 6, people wondered just how far The Nationalist will go in advancing his ultra-conservative agenda.
Already he was implicated in several explosions, including the attack on WCOT radio. He confronted Elite Ice and sent her to the hospital, and he got the ire of Galatea Future, forcing her to confront him during a live television interview.
So just how far will he go? And can anyone really stop him?
To find out, you’re going to have to wait until October 15th, when Issue #8 of “Future’s Guardian” goes online!
The next issue of “Future’s Guardian” has been moved to an October 15th release date.
The move comes as part of writer/creator/editor David 2’s schedule change from a 30/31-day to a 45(ish)-day release.
David 2 explains:
“I have certain obligations that right now are keeping me from dedicating all of my time and focus into this project. In addition, I’ve been working on a certain project that has been eating up some of my remaining time. So instead of trying to rush the next issue out, I decided to adjust the release schedule to give myself more time to give both activities the attention they deserve.”
“I think people will like what I’ve been working on, both here and with the eventual project when I’m able to talk about it. In fact, some readers might recognize a few images in this issue.”
Adjusting for the new schedule, Issue 8 of “Future’s Guardian” is set to be released on October 15th, with Issue 9 tentatively set for December 1st, and Issue 10 for January 15th of 2014. This is, however, all still subject to change.
It’s rare when heroes are able to take the time and enjoy the scenery, especially when it involves two friends just starting to know each other.
The friendship of Galatea Future and Starlett is still young, and there is much for the two women to find out about each other. The real question is… how will they find these things out? And what happens afterward?
But for now, they are able to enjoy some time in Millennium City before trouble rears its ugly head.
What sort of trouble, you ask?
Well you’ll just have to find out when Issue #7 of “Future’s Guardian” comes online starting on September 1st!
Believe me, it’ll be pretty obvious.
You may also notice yet another modest change to the comic. Something will seem a little brighter. Maybe even to denote the brighter appearance of a certain character.
Series writer/creator David 2 explains the change:
“When I first started doing the series, I wanted the title to reflect Galatea Future’s look. Her original outfit when she arrived in Millennium City was darker, so I wanted the title to reflect that.
“But once she got started wearing brighter and more patriotic colors, it seemed weird to have a title that was still that darker hue. So the gray is gone and the title is brighter and it stands out more.
“Plus she stands out a lot more from her counterpart from ‘The City’, whose outfit went from white to black. It should be clear to longtime readers that Galatea Future is becoming more and more different from Galatea Powers; not just in name but also in her appearance.
“In fact I’m sure readers would love to see what would happen if the two Galateas were to meet.”
Find out what else changes when “Future’s Guardian” #7 goes online on September 1st!
One of the uneasiest moments for a superhero is when they are in their secret identity and they come across their mortal enemy.
Imagine the thoughts that go through a hero’s head when they realize that they have to interact with that person. Can he or she see through that disguise? Do they know who they are really speaking with?
For Galatea Future, those thoughts will not be hypothetical in Issue #7 of “Future’s Guardian”.
Galatea comes across Markman Gold while she is in her civilian guise to promote her new book and a dozen thoughts go through her mind. What does he want with her? And can Galatea keep her cool during this encounter?
And this is just the start of the issue!
Plus… who is this girl?
Is she just “enjoying the view” or is there a reason for her to be so high up over the city? And what is her connection to the issue?
You’ll find out when “Future’s Guardian” #7 goes online on September 1st!

For Immediate Release
Battlerock Comics Announces First Storyline in Future’s Guardian Series
GEORGIA – August 9, 2013 – Battlerock Comics announces the first major multi-part storyline in the “Future’s Guardian” comic series with “Psilence of Conscience”.
“Future’s Guardian” is a fan-made comic series that is based in the online world of the Champions Online Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game as provided by Perfect World Entertainment. The series focuses primarily around Galatea Future, a super-heroine from an alternate future and an alternate universe that finds herself in a completely new world and facing the challenges of starting over.
According to writer/creator David 2, “Psilence of Conscience” will focus on Candace Sinclair, Galatea Future’s best friend in the world of the Champions.
“Candace Sinclair has always been a strong character, both as an attorney and also as a friend to Galatea Future. But now something happens to her that changes her life and potentially affects her both personally and professionally.”
“Psilence of Conscience” also takes a closer look at Galatea Future’s secret identity as a fiction/romance writer and the “Sentinels of Love” book series; a series that has connections to the character’s previous “home”.
“Galatea Future is an alternate version of the City of Heroes MMO character Galatea Powers,” David 2 explained. “So she still has memories of things that went on in that world, including the other heroes she worked with. Those heroes became the basis for Galatea’s fictional book characters. Fans of that other MMO may recognize some of those characters, especially when one of them crosses over into the world of the Champions.”
“Psilence of Conscience” is the first major storyline for the comic series, but not the first for the writer/creator. David 2 previously worked on several multi-part storylines for the “Guardians of the Dawn Spotlight” series, including “Time and Changes”, which introduced readers to the character of Galatea Future.
“Working on a multi-part storyline is a serious investment for a comic series. There is a lot of planning put into coming up with the overall story, the characters involved, the roles they play in the overall story, and how the storyline itself plays out. You’re talking about planning two or three or even ten issues in advance. That means that you have to see yourself working on that series at least until that storyline finishes. It also assumes that the comic series itself would continue at least through that storyline.”
David 2 says the new storyline will be in five parts and each will have a special “Psilence of Conscience” banner on the cover. He also says that the misspelling of the word “Silence” is deliberate.
“The misspelling of the word ‘Silence’ actually plays into several of the characters involved with the overall story. This will be a story about the mind and how dangerous it can be in certain circumstances, especially when someone has power over it that is not ready or willing to deal with the consequences.”
The “Psilence of Conscience” storyline begins with Issue #7 of “Future’s Guardian”, which goes online on September 1st.
We are just a few hours away from the online release of “Future’s Guardian” #6, and we here at Battlerock Comics are just bubbling with anticipation. There is so much on our plate right now that we want to just spill out all at once.
The changes continue for “Future’s Guardian” as the series evolves, and what you will see in Issue 6 will set the stage for some of those changes. And we can’t wait to share with you what is in store!
But we would also be remiss if we didn’t mention some of the other great works that will be coming out this month. In fact, one of them didn’t even want to wait for August!
So here’s a little peek at what we have for you courtesy of the City of Comic Creators. (And thanks to the almighty RA for coming up with this! You can check out his 3D comics over at www.coxcomics.com )

It’s no surprise that superheroes have secrets. Some of them wear masks for a reason.
And it should be no surprise that Galatea Future would have plenty of secrets about her extremely-extensive life.
But there is one secret that could end her time as a hero in the world of Champions Online.

Will she have to give that secret up? And who would she have to reveal that secret to?

Plus, how is Starlett doing? When last we saw her, she was still recovering from a near-fatal attack from “Mister Blue”. What’s been going on in her life since then? How has her life improved now that she’s under the watchful eye of Ronin Omega?
And if that’s not enough… someone else makes his debut in Millennium City, and apparently he was making a name for himself long before even set foot in the city! Who is he and is he really the hero he claims to be?
Find out the answers to these questions when “Future’s Guardian” #6 goes online on Thursday, August 1st!
WHO IS GALATEA FUTURE?
Well, long-time comic readers of “Guardians of the Dawn Spotlight” and “The Future Adventures of Galatea Future“ know who she is.
But some of the newer readers of “Future’s Guardian” may not know precisely who she is or how she ended up in the world of the Champions. How is it that she is “From another time and from another world”? Why does she seem to be so boastful of her abilities?
Just how powerful was she once? How powerful is a “nigh-Omega Being”? And how did she get that way?
For those that do not know, Issue #6 is the perfect time to find out!
Someone wants to know Galatea’s origins, and whether or not she is able to continue as a hero in the world of the Champions depends entirely on who is asking her and how she answers their questions.
Find out when “Future’s Guardian” #6 goes online on Thursday, August 1st!
