Battlerock Comics Announces First Storyline in Future’s Guardian Series
GEORGIA – August 9, 2013 – Battlerock Comics announces the first major multi-part storyline in the “Future’s Guardian” comic series with “Psilence of Conscience”.
“Future’s Guardian” is a fan-made comic series that is based in the online world of the Champions Online Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game as provided by Perfect World Entertainment. The series focuses primarily around Galatea Future, a super-heroine from an alternate future and an alternate universe that finds herself in a completely new world and facing the challenges of starting over.
According to writer/creator David 2, “Psilence of Conscience” will focus on Candace Sinclair, Galatea Future’s best friend in the world of the Champions.
“Candace Sinclair has always been a strong character, both as an attorney and also as a friend to Galatea Future. But now something happens to her that changes her life and potentially affects her both personally and professionally.”
“Psilence of Conscience” also takes a closer look at Galatea Future’s secret identity as a fiction/romance writer and the “Sentinels of Love” book series; a series that has connections to the character’s previous “home”.
“Galatea Future is an alternate version of the City of Heroes MMO character Galatea Powers,” David 2 explained. “So she still has memories of things that went on in that world, including the other heroes she worked with. Those heroes became the basis for Galatea’s fictional book characters. Fans of that other MMO may recognize some of those characters, especially when one of them crosses over into the world of the Champions.”
“Psilence of Conscience” is the first major storyline for the comic series, but not the first for the writer/creator. David 2 previously worked on several multi-part storylines for the “Guardians of the Dawn Spotlight” series, including “Time and Changes”, which introduced readers to the character of Galatea Future.
“Working on a multi-part storyline is a serious investment for a comic series. There is a lot of planning put into coming up with the overall story, the characters involved, the roles they play in the overall story, and how the storyline itself plays out. You’re talking about planning two or three or even ten issues in advance. That means that you have to see yourself working on that series at least until that storyline finishes. It also assumes that the comic series itself would continue at least through that storyline.”
David 2 says the new storyline will be in five parts and each will have a special “Psilence of Conscience” banner on the cover. He also says that the misspelling of the word “Silence” is deliberate.
“The misspelling of the word ‘Silence’ actually plays into several of the characters involved with the overall story. This will be a story about the mind and how dangerous it can be in certain circumstances, especially when someone has power over it that is not ready or willing to deal with the consequences.”
The “Psilence of Conscience” storyline begins with Issue #7 of “Future’s Guardian”, which goes online on September 1st.
