The first Saturday in May is Free Comic Book Day.
This is the day when participating comic book stores give away free comic books as a way to get new customers. This is something that is worked out between the comic book stores, the distributors, and the publishers themselves.
Of course not EVERY comic book is free on this day. Publishers will often come up with special issues just for this day as a way to get new readers interested in their works. The first one is free, the rest you have to pay for.
Well we here at Battlerock Comics would like to do our bit as well.
But we have a little problem…
Our comics are already free!
Our comics are fan-made comics, and because of obvious legal issues concerning the source material, we cannot charge for them.
But as comic book fans as well as comic book creators, we would still like to do our bit to help out the comic book industry.
So spend today going to your participating comic book store (you can find them by going to the FCBD website), get your free comic book, and then come back here for some more FREE comic books!
