In “Furia and the Guardians” #4, supergroup patron Andrew Wentworth (CEO of Wentworth’s Fine Consignment) made the observation that the Guardians of the Dawn seem to be dominated too much by women.
Is he right?
Bear in mind that while the Guardians were founded by two women – Captain Paragonna and Midnight Arachnia – it’s also been led by men. Maximus Rex took over the group for one period, and during its “Ghost Group” phase it was owned by former patron and newly-elected District Attorney Alex Wentworth (formerly the Libertarian Avenger) and managed by Icon Powers. And today, of course, it’s still owned by Alex and run by the semi-retired Ryder Lightning.
And there have been some noted male members of the group. There is the late Jimmy Hellfighter, the now-former hero Arktic Chill, Street Justice, the gourmet hero Chef Dramsay, and we can’t forget KDave, Pharon, or the newest hero, Guardian Star. And Issue #5 will introduce the latest hero to join the Guardians (thanks in no small part the senior Wentworth).
And yet… women do seem to dominate the group. The most noted member of the Guardians (not to mention the most powerful one) is Galatea Powers. In fact, the active core members of “The Guardian Powers” – namely Galatea Powers, Lyon Powers, Captain Paragonna – were jokingly dubbed “Alex’s Angels”. And Furia Powers obviously took center stage in the new series, not to mention being the one to kick Destitution’s butt live on PNN.
So that brings us to this question:
We don’t know how long this poll will go on. But don’t let that stop you from picking which statement reflects your thoughts on the issue. And if you have something else to consider on the subject, please include that in the comments.
