Galatea Future recently attended the FoxbatCon event in Millennium City’s Renaissance Center along with fellow hero and legendary Champions member Kinetik.
The two were interviewed by WCOC’s Julie Morgan.
Julie Morgan: So what brings you two to FoxbatCon?
Kinetik: HeywhatcanIsay? I’malwayslookingforanopportunitytoshowMillenniumCityhowREALheroesroll. SowhentheopportunitycomesI’malwaysoutthere,firstandforemost.
Julie: (Looking confused at the speed in which Kinetik responded) Huh?
Galatea Future: I think what Kinetik is trying to say is that we all got invitations. Which is… weird, considering that Foxbat paints himself as a supervillain, and here he’s treated like… well, like a celebrity.
Julie: Did you ever have an opportunity to work with Foxbat?
Kinetik: Man,he’salwaysgettingarrestedforanythinghecandotomakeanameforhimself! Idon’tknowhowmanytimesI’d-ZIP!-zoomoninand-ZAP!-knockhisbuttoutandthen-ZIP!-himbacktojail. Keepsgettingouttoo,whichisdumb! Youknow?
Julie: And how about you, Galatea?
Galatea: When I first arrived in the city during the Qularr Invasion, I came across him trapped in some rubble. I didn’t know who he was at the time. I thought he was just another superhero. I freed him and he was all embarrassed, but he gave me a ping-pong ball with the letters “IOU” stamped on it. He said anytime I needed to establish some kind of “cred”, I could redeem it. Then he ran off.
Julie: And do you still have it?
Galatea: The ping-pong ball? I think I have it in a drawer somewhere.
Voice of Foxbat fan: I’ll give you five hundred dollars for that ping-pong ball!
Voice of second Foxbat fan: Five hundred fifty!
Galatea: Sorry, it’s not for sale.
(Crowd gives murmurs of displeasure as podium microphone feedback can be heard.)
Julie: Well it looks like something going to happen on stage, so I guess we’ll let you enjoy the convention. Thank you both for speaking with us.
Kinetik: Anytime,J.
