Somewhere in the world of Star Trek Online…
Galatea Quantum finds herself in a strange Winter Wonderland, courtesy of her old ally Q.
“Where am I, Q?” she asked.
The enigmatic cosmic being gave a odd smile. “Why I’ve brought you to the kind of winter wonderland you humans enjoy. Or, what humans and YOU enjoy. Relax! Have fun! Have some roasted targ, throw some snowballs, and play reindeer games. My Christmas gift to you.”
Somewhere in the world of Champions Online…
It’s Christmas Day in Millennium City.
Galatea Future is spending the day standing guard over the Christmas Tree in the middle of the Renaissance Center. Black Harlequin has already tried to ruin Christmas for everyone when he sent his giant Misfit Toys to destroy the display. Thankfully the heroes were able to stop Black Harlequin, but he still managed to get away.
Major Cross had already sent the rest of Project Mycroft off for the day. John Battle and Starlett were off celebrating the season. Elite Ice, Keira Fyre and even Maxima Wann were at Ravenswood celebrating an alumni holiday.
Galatea had only one more hour of guard duty left before she could head out. She would soon be hosting Christmas Dinner with Candace Sinclair and her “plus one”.
She looked up in the shadows of the building to see Red Sinner watching everything from her post. She doesn’t spend Christmas like the others. No one knows why, and they really don’t ask.
Somewhere in the world of City of Heroes Homecoming…
Galatea Powers spends time with Ms. Liberty on Christmas morning.
She had just returned from Wales, where the Powers Family Christmas was still going on.
On Christmas Eve, she arrived at the Powers Manor along with her adopted sister, Katie Lea (aka Lyon Powers), and her cousin/adopted father Kent (aka Icon Powers). They were greeted by Galatea’s boyfriend, John Cole (aka Guardian Star), who had been there to help protect the Powers Family. Windham Powers, the family patriarch, officially welcomed the trio home for the holidays.
The rest of the Powers family soon arrived. Aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters, even cousin Chuck (aka Bulldog Powers) showed up for yuletide celebrations.
While it was a joyful celebration, there was a shadowy dread on the back of everyone’s minds. Galatea’s twin sister Leona was out there somewhere with a grudge against the whole Powers family. Now calling herself “Dawnender”, Leona had already devastated the Guardians of the Dawn as a group and destroyed most of its base. She was still out there, still targeting anyone connected to the Powers Family.
Windham had started to give a Christmas Eve toast when the air crackled with a dimensional portal. The whole family was on edge.
But then a figure with purple hair walked through and into the living room.
It was Furia Powers, Galatea’s counterpart from the Praetorian Universe, and she was holding a wrapped gift.
“Sorry I’m late,” she said with a smile. “I just wrapped up a case with Loche and Key. They both wish everyone a Happy Christmas.”
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
On Christmas Morning, a grand breakfast was served. Gifts were exchanged. Kent again played Father Christmas, much to the delight to the children and grandchildren. “It’s the beard,” he said with a wink.
As the last gifts were handed out, Galatea made her way back to Cardiff Dawn Patrol base and the portal that would take her back to America.
Now Galatea was back in Rhode Island, continuing her search for Dawnender. She had given Ms. Liberty a gift from Windham; an enchanted icicle from the Lady of the Lake. It glowed when held next to the Excalibur sword on her belt.
It was a few minutes of relative peace and quiet before the guardian of the city resumed her search.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to one and to all from Battlerock Comics.
